HEATING CHILLED CIRCUITS/DOMESTIC WATER CIRCUITS
Closed circuits can become blocked with corrosion and scale. Additionally chilled circuits can become microbiologically contaminated – particularly from the bacterium Pseudomonas, which can form dense layers of slime, causing blockages in strainers and filters. Sulphate-reducing bacteria can cause corrosion damage. Nitrite-oxidising bacteria can deplete nitrite-based corrosion inhibitors. In extreme circumstances iron bacteria can cause severe blockages in pipework
Pipework can fail because of corrosion damage and scale formation can greatly increase running costs. Domestic water systems can suffer from “red water” problems caused by corrosion of iron pipework.
Whitewater offer a range of products designed to improve efficiency, including:
- Scale and corrosion inhibitors
- Sludge conditioners and dispersants
- Biocide treatments
